Kirtan Celebration with Prema Hara

Kirtan ~ the heart or essencPrema Hara1e of Bhakti ~ is in one sense impossible to define. It defies measurement and resists categorization. Kirtan means to share to celebrate, to praise and to glorify.

Kirtan forms a bridge between your outer and inner identities, expressing our desire to know and love the divine absolute. It is utter devotion towards God. The different Ragas and melodies create different moods of spiritual feelings from great joy of intimate association to deep spiritual lamentation in separation of God.

Kirtan transcends the artificial barriers imposed by the external world. It rises above skin color, age, gender, race, religion, or creed and does not depend upon classic vocal training or musical abilities. It is sung from the heart; it is raw, joyful, primeval.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is a gentle healing form of Hatha Yoga that is practiced with props to provide a supportive environment for total relaxation. Only 5-6 Restorative poses are practiced per class. These gentle poses create physiological responses which are beneficial to your health and can reduce the effects of stress-related illness. The class is slow, deeply nurturing and suitable for all ages – particularly those with chronic pain or limitations.

• Learn yogic breathing and meditation techniques as you practice gentle
restorative poses while your body is supported with bolsters and blankets.

• Experience deep relaxation as you stimulate the body to move toward

balance.

• Activate healing from stress of daily activities, major life events, injuries, chronic
stress fatigue, or illness.

• Wear comfortable clothing.                                                                                                               Saturday September 27th 1:00 pm-3:00      $30 per person.

Stress can take quite a toll on the body, mind and spirit.  It can seem as if you are always on edge- tired, depleted and sad.  You feel as if you cannot take on one more thing and there is no time for YOU.  Stress can affect your immune system causing more aches, pains and illnesses.  Food is often the source of comfort which brings on more stress. 
It is time to get off the emotional roller coaster.
 
This 2 hr. workshop will include open discussion, breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga postures for relaxation, strength and balance.  You will learn how to use these tools off the yoga mat throughout your day.  Dress comfortably, bring a notebook and water bottle.  There will be organic tea available for additional stress relief!   Namaste’
