Classes

We are pleased to offer a variety of yoga classes and styles for all students and all levels.

Gentle: A calming, stress-relieving yoga class to stretch and strengthen the body gradually. Emphasis is on building awareness of the breath and the body. Asanas are practiced at a slower pace with attention to alignment and detail. Recommended for all levels looking for a soothing, relaxing, and restorative experience, especially those newer to yoga or working with special concerns or injuries.

Level 1: For beginning and continuing students. Focus is on basic poses, breath and alignment.

Level 1 – 2: Moderately paced classes for those ready to experience more challenging postures.

Flow: Recommended for those with at least 6 months of yoga experience. This class focuses on vinyasa style yoga (connecting breath to movement) and builds heat, strength and flexibility.

All Levels: A moderately paced class appropriate for ongoing/experienced Level 1 students through advanced students.  A mixed style class incorporating vinyasa yoga as well as attention to alignment and technique.
Modifications are given allowing the students to choose a more beginning or more advanced practice according to their needs.  A beautiful opportunity to be inspired by your fellow students of all levels.

Vinyasa Flow Level 1-2: For those with some yoga experience.  Modifications will be encouraged to customize the class to your ability.  Breath and movement are seamlessly united and encourage each other.  Each movement has a corresponding breath.  The postures follow one another in a specific and orderly manner, one posture preparing for or counterbalancing the previous one, revealing an internal logic of breath, movement, and intention.  Every class will include seamlessly interwoven yoga philosophy and eclectic music.

Candlelight Vinyasa Flow Yoga (Level 2): Set to music and lit only by candles this soulful vinyasa class builds
heat, strength and flexibility while allowing the mind to flow into an exuberant state of meditation by traveling inward as is enhanced by the darkness. Attention is paid to the alignment of the physical form as well as to the subtle energy body (chakras).

Friday Happy Hour Harmony Vinyasa With John HoranAs a vinyasa class the pace will be steady and at times demanding. But starting slow and building to crescendo, care will be taken to carry the body in harmonious balance to build strength and openness.  Students should bring a towel for sweat as one of the key components of this class will be inner fire.

Gentle Restorative: This calming, nurturing class promotes the effects of conscious relaxation and is particularly beneficial for coping with insomnia, menstrual discomfort, headaches, fatigue and an overstimulated nervous system. Props are utilized for maximum comfort. Restore, refresh, renew. Everyone is welcome!

Full Bodied Yoga: Experience the stress relief and healing power of yoga while celebrating the wonderful gifts and strength of your own unique body.  In this class, as in all the others we find alignment by listening in and being present within the wisdom of our own bodies.  This is a slightly slower paced class to allow for exploration, modification and ease in transition.  Good for beginners of all sizes and ages.

Adaptive Yoga: This  class is designed for students with a variety of needs who are looking for a safe place to experience the multiple benefits of yoga. These benefits would include increased flexibility, greater sense of balance, moderate strengthening, and the ability to be present in themselves in the breath to achieve the optimum degree of healing in each experience whether in a yoga class or in the world.

Rise and Shine Yoga: Greet the morning sun with this refreshing class for early risers.  Set the tone for your day by bringing balance and energy into the body, allowing you more clarity and focus as the day goes on.  A great way to fit yoga into a busy schedule before the workday begins!

Level 2, or 2 Diamond, classes are suitable for intermediate students. The basic postures are expanded to include more difficult variations and may be described with less detail. The class will flow at a faster pace and the asanas will be held longer. The classes introduce more advanced breathing techniques and concepts in yogic philosophy including the energetic body.
